Career change over 40
Upon reaching the age of 40, people often experience a growing desire for deeper meaning and purpose in their pursuits, as opposed to the priorities of their younger years. While in one's 20's and 30's, the focus may have been on advancement, financial gain, home ownership, and starting a family. Around 40 years of age many people begin to seek a more meaningful way for their lives to have an impact, to work in ways that are truly congruent with their values and interests, and aspire to make a larger, positive and enduring contribution to the world in which they live. These newfound aspirations prompt them to realize that their current field or position may not provide the satisfaction and fulfillment they now seek.
